SUGAR
IMPORT PROBLEM
Indonesia is currently one of the largest sugar importers in
the world. This is in stark contrast to Indonesia’s status as one of the
world’s largest sugar exporters during the 1930s. With the continuing increase in population and rapid economic growth and thus consumption of sugar, the Indonesian government is scrambling to find a solution so that the growing problem of sugar imports does not spiral out of control.
PT Aman Agrindo plays an active role in developing sugarcane plantations and increasing domestic sugar production to overcome the problem of sugar imports.
